Local scour in a sediment bed varies depending on the type, size and shape of hydraulic structures, properties approach flow particles. Published studies are hitherto confined primarily to empirical experiments based particular types structure there is almost no comparison amongst different structures. This study aims provide an attempt unify clear-water new length scale, which proposed characterize large-scale that governs scouring processes. The scale serves as generalized radius, applicable for all related junction flows at bridge piers abutments, wall jets including culverts. analysis indicates when normalized with equilibrium depths can be described unified function densimetric Froude number, regardless types. In addition, this also shows efficiency, fashion resembling bedload range low high transport regimes. finding, founded solid physical grounds, reveals kinds local phenomena interpreted unison rather than individual type
